AGMs

Scottish Archery’s AGM will be held in Perth on Saturday 23rd November. Details have already been emailed to our members. If you wish your vote to count and cannot attend then please follow the proxy instructions.

The Eastern Area AGM will be held on Friday 29th November. Allan is going and can be named as your proxy.

Please do read these documents and fill in your proxy votes if not attending. It is important for the future of the sport in Scotland!!

Along side the Scottish Archery & the Eastern Area AGM’s our own will be held at the end of February. Documents will be sent out next month.

We are looking for volunteers to come on to the committee, so if you can offer a couple of hours a month to help run the club then please speak to an existing committee member (Allan, Simon, Doreen, Matthew G, Iain S, Rachel).

Field Archery Shoot
On Sunday 1st December Stephen Havranek is organising a field archery animal shoot for us – this will take place during the usual 13:00-16:00 session at Perth High School. Come along and experience a different type of archery!

Range Setup & Tear-down
I would like to take this opportunity to remind members that it is everyone’s responsibility to set up and tear down the range during club sessions, and that you MUST ask the range captain before leaving if there is anything that can be put away.
There have been a couple of sessions recently where a couple of people have been left at the end of the night to put away too much of the range. We have access to the hall 15 minutes before our booking times, and this is a time used for setup. If you are able to arrive promptly to help with setup please do so.
If you are the only one shooting on a target then it is likely that it can be put away once you are done with your scorecard.

Scoring
Handicaps and scoring are an integral part of archery, and essential for some of our internal (very essential for external) competitions. Please complete and submit a scorecard regularly so that Matthew can calculate the handicaps. Scoring is good practice and recording your scores allows for tracking progress of your shooting!

Christmas 2019
The Christmas shoots will be on 13th and 15th December and will conclude our archery for the holidays.
There will be chocolate, there may be medals!
Archery will resume on Friday 10th January 2020

Congratulations also go to Rachel Anderton on the birth of her twin boys Alisdair and Blair on Friday 15th November.
